Awards are an essential part of the British Pharmacological Society’s mission to promote and advance pharmacology. From supporting the next generation of pharmacologists and the professional development of early career researchers, to recognising contributions to the discipline that benefit human and animal health.

We encourage you to apply or nominate others for the following awards by Friday 17 March 2023. 

Career Support Awards

• Bülbring Award – research funding for career returners
• Dunlop Prize – an opportunity for early career clinical researchers to travel to Australasia for a 3-week research visit
• Pickford Award – research funding for early career members
• Vacation Studentship – for undergraduates undertaking a summer research project

Awards of Recognition

• BPS Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Prize, sponsored by AstraZeneca – recognises efforts being made to promote EDI or widen participation in pharmacology
• Rang Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching
• Sir Henry Wellcome Gold Medal - recognises outstanding achievement and leadership in pharmacology and therapeutics
• Vane Medal - recognises outstanding achievement and leadership in non-clinical pharmacology
• Vogt Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Postgraduate Studies
• Zaimis Prize for Sustained Achievement & Leadership in Pharmacology Teaching
