This award provides career enhancing opportunities for early career members. Winners will receive up to £10,000 to fund a short-term project or visit to a laboratory to learn a new technique.
Criteria
Candidates will be assessed on their career to date and the strength of their project proposal.
Eligibility
- Member for at least two years
- Within the first six years of a PhD award, or part-time equivalent (allowing for career breaks)
- Published at least two first author papers in the field of pharmacology
- On, or aiming for, an academic career track
- In full or part-time employment with at least six months remaining on their current contract
- Not in a tenured position
- If you have a fellowship you must include justification as to why your current award does not cover your project or visit.
- Will preferably have presented at a Society meeting in the last three years.

Application
You must complete the online form and upload a PDF including the following information. All documents must use Arial 11 and Moderate margins.
- Brief CV (up to two pages)
- Full list of publications, including journal impact factor and number of citations
- Summary of how the award will be used, including a breakdown of costs (up to two pages)
- Letter of support from the grant or fund holder which pays the applicants salary
Winners must submit a report within 12 months of receiving the award and update the Society on their career progress in the years following.
