Nick gained his PhD in immunopathology from Southampton University in 1982 where he studied the link between heart disease and dietary proteins.
Research interest: Understanding the cellular and molecular regulation of vascular and visceral smooth muscle activity by ion channels and membrane receptors.
I obtained a 1st Class Honours BSc (1980) and a PhD (1984) in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow.

Walter studied medicine in Basel (Switzerland), trained in medicine in Basel (Luzius Dettli) and clinical pharmacology in Basel (Ferenc Follath, Samuel Vozeh) and at Stanford University (Palo Alto, CA, USA) (Terrence F Blaschke, Brian B Hoffman).
