As Head of the Animals in Science Regulation Unit in the Home Office until 2016, Judy MacArthur Clark was responsible for regulating the use of animals in research throughout the UK for over eight years. Her career spans over 40 years in animal welfare and biomedical research in a variety of academic, government, commercial, NGO and consultant roles. Judy has authored over 170 scientific publications and is frequently invited to give major presentations internationally. She works closely with colleagues in a range of different countries, including China and Brazil, to co-ordinate symposia and research initiatives and is passionate about the science-led promotion of the 3Rs.As Executive Director of JMC Consultancy, her expertise is widely recognised in developing meaningful political strategies which improve the delivery of good science through good research animal welfare and ethical use, and through supporting the concept of One World-One Health.
