Dr Graham Ladds

Graham Ladds is a Reader in Receptor Pharmacology in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge. Graham obtained his BSc in Biochemistry from Birmingham and his PhD from Warwick University. He uses a multidisciplinary approach to study the molecular basis of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCRs) signal transduction, with particular interest in G protein-mediated signalling bias. His primary focus has been to study peptide GPCRs initially using yeast, but more recently he has concentrated upon the mechanism of regulation for class B GPCRs in primary human cell lines. Interest in his research from industry has enabled a series of productive collaborations with multi-national pharmaceutical companies. Whenever possible, Graham also uses computational modelling to inform his pharmacological investigations. He is a Fellow and Director of Studies for Pharmacology at St John’s College Cambridge and recently became an associate member of the Centre for Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE), a collaborative research initiative between the University of Birmingham and the University of Nottingham.
