Professor Baydoun obtained a BSc(Hons) and PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Sunderland and was a British Heart Foundation Intermediate Fellow at King’s College London before joining the University of Hertfordshire where he is currently the Associate Dean for Research in the School of Life and Medical Sciences and an Associate Director of the Doctoral College. He has served on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Pharmacology and sits on the Editorial Board of ISRN Pharmacology and the Journal of Pharmacology and Toxicology Research. He has also served on the International Steering Committee for the International Heart Forum and the Pan-Asian International Conference on Science and Technology. He has been external programme examiner at the University of Hong Kong, St George's, Brighton and Teesside among other. His research interest and expertise is in cell signalling, focusing on stem cell differentiation, vascular calcification and on the NOS pathways.
