Tim Warner studied for his BSc in Pharmacology at Chelsea College, later King’s College London, from 1982 to 1986. This course included an extramural year, during which time Tim worked in the cardiovascular research group at Smith Kline French in Welwyn. After graduating Tim went to study for his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Sir John Vane to investigate mediators derived from endothelial cells. For his post-doctoral research, Tim moved to work with Prof Ferid Murad at Abbot Laboratories and Northwestern University, Chicago, studying endothelial nitric oxide synthase. Tim returned in 1992 to the William Harvey Research Institute, Barts & the London School of Medicine & Dentistry, becoming a British Heart Foundation basic science lecturer in 1995, Professor of Vascular Inflammation in 2000, Deputy Dean for Postgraduate Research in 2014, and Deputy Director (Research and Innovation) for the Life Science Initiative. Since 2017 he has been Director of the Blizard Institute.
