Dr Olayinka Ogunleye is a graduate of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and currently an Associate Professor at the Lagos State University College of Medicine and an Honorary Consultant Physician to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. His research is focused on drug utilization and rational pharmacotherapy with particular interests in antimicrobial utilization (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). He has continued to work within his global networks to advance the roles of Clinical Pharmacologists in medical education and healthcare. He is a member of the IAG of the BPS and a Co-founder of ‘’Medicines Utilization Research in Africa (MURIA) Group’’ through which he has led/co-led several initiatives to promote rational use of medicines in Africa. He is a member of the International Editorial Board to the BJCP as well as an Associate Editor to Frontiers in Pharmacology. He Chairs the Global Health Pharmacology and Therapeutics Sub-committee of IUPHAR and was recently elected into the IUPHAR Executive Committee.
