Professor Reecha Sofat is the inaugural Breckenridge Chair of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Liverpool, where she is also Head of Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Her research interest is in embedding research into routine clinical practice to make and used medicines better. A particular focus is on how to leverage data to do this. This includes real-world and multi-omic data. Clinically she practices general internal medicine and cardiovascular risk and works to explore how to add novel pharmacology based practices into clinical care e.g. polypharmacy (multimorbidity), pharmacogenomics, adverse drug reactions. She has an interest in evidence based medicines policy having chaired local and regional Drugs and Therapeutics Committees. She teaches pharmacology to medical, undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is committed to the development of careers of non-clinical and clinical scientists and trainees. She is currently Vice President, Clinical at the BPS.
