Jean Claude Reubi obtained his MD in Medicine at the University of Zurich in 1972, joined the Brain Research Institute in Zurich, and then the MRC Pharmacology in Cambridge, UK, (Iversen Group). After a two-and-a-half year stay at the Salk Institute in San Diego, CA, he joined Novartis in Basel and Berne, where he focused on somatostatin receptor targets in human cancers. In 1992, he became head of the Division of Cell Biology and Experimental Cancer Research and Professor of Pathology at the Institute of Pathology, University of Berne, where his main research focus was on peptide receptors in human diseases. He has published more than 500 scientific articles, is inventor of a dozen of patents and has been recognized by numerous international Awards. He is Adjunct Professor at the Salk Institute in San Diego, USA, honorary Professor of Pathology at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark. He has been Emeritus Professor of Pathology of the University of Berne since 2012.
