Professor Michael Randall read Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, followed by a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at Cambridge, graduating in 1989. This was then followed by a research fellowship at the University of Wales College of Medicine, where he continued his work on endothelial control. He was appointed to a lectureship at Nottingham in 1993 and promoted to Professor of Pharmacology in 2011. During his time at Nottingham he has been heavily involved in teaching both Pharmacy and Medicine, with a focus on Pharmacology and Case-Study based teaching. He was awarded the Rang Prize for Teaching by the British Pharmacological Society and is a Senior Fellow of the HEA. He was head of the Physiology and Pharmacology teaching group, Director of Teaching for the Schools of Biomedical Sciences and Life Sciences and is currently Faculty Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education and Student Experience).
