Zamri obtained his BSc in Chemistry and MSc in pharmacology from the University of Malaya and later PhD in Clinical Pharmacology from Queen Mary University of London (UK) in 2007. Soon after completed his doctorate degree, he joined the Department of pharmacology, University of Malaya as a senior lecturer and currently serves as a Professor of Pharmacology and also Head of the Universiti Malaya Bioequivalence and Testing Centre (UBAT). More than 10 students are currently performing post graduate studies under his supervision and to date, more than twenty students were graduated with PhD and master under his supervision. His scope of research covers pharmacology and pharmacy which includes bioavailability and pharmacokinetic studies in human and animal models, drug delivery systems such as PEG-PLGA nanoparticles for systemic drug delivery, and semi solid formulations for transdermal and topical preparation. Apart from his research activities, he also actively provided consultation to local pharmaceutical pharma and botech companies as well as international companies in conducting clinical trials, bioequivalence and bioavailability studies, pre-clinical pharmacokinetics and toxicology studies, drug bioanalysis, efficacy studies, etc. He has conducted more than 40 bioequivalence studies for generic drug substitution.
