Sarah Walsh is a Research Fellow at the Robert Gordon University (RGU) in Aberdeen. She graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiology from the University of Galway (Ireland) and a PhD in Cardiovascular Pharmacology from RGU under the supervision of Prof Cherry Wainwright and Prof Kathy Kane (University of Strathclyde). Prior to taking up her post at RGU she was a Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funded Research Fellow in the Anu Research Centre, University College Cork (Ireland). Sarah’s research is primarily focused on identifying novel therapeutic targets for the treatment of various cardiovascular diseases, particularly those related to metabolic syndrome. Her work is focused on elucidating the cardiovascular role of a number of different GPCRs in conditions such as hypertension and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). She is a member of the British Society for Cardiovascular Research and the International Society for Heart Research and is a Committee Member of the Scottish Cardiovascular Forum.
