Giuseppe Cirino received his degree in Pharmacy at the University of Naples Federico II in 1980 and his PhD in Pharmacology in 1986. He is full Professor in Pharmacology since 2001, member of Italian Society of Pharmacology and Fellow of the British Pharmacological Society (FBPhS) and of Royal Society of Biology (FRBS). He has been Head of the Department of Experimental Pharmacology, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy from 2006 to 2012 and since 2012 is Vice Rector of Teaching of the. He has published over 270 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters and he is among the first 100 Italian researchers in Pharmacology in the world and in Italy. He has acted as Editor and at the present is Senior Editor for the British Journal of Pharmacology, editor of Vascular Pharmacology and Journal of Toxicological and Pharmacological Methods. His major research interest is in the cardiovascular, lung inflammation and erectile dysfunction with a major focus on the gasotransmitters NO and H2S.
