Education Grant

This Education Grant (formerly Teaching Grant) supports the creation or development of educational tools and resources. We award up to £2,500 to each successful applicant, based on your application successfully aligning to our grant criteria. The applications are reviewed and scored by the Education and Training Committee.

The Education Grant for 2023 is open - the deadline for applications is Friday 13 October 2023.
Below you can find information pertaining to the eligibility criteria, the application process and what will be expected of you if your appication is successful. 

Grant criteria

To be eligible to apply, you must have been a member of the Society for at least 12 months.

Applications are measured against the following:

  • feasibility of the proposal and resources required 
  • quality and novelty of the proposal
  • alignment to any Society curricula (Undergraduate core curriculum, Medical curriculum, Curriculum for the use of research animals) 
  • potential for impact and influence
The final resource must be an educational tool with guidance that allows others to use it.


You will need to submit a completed application form outlining:

  • objectives
  • project timeline
  • how the proposal aligns to our curriculum
  • any income generating opportunities
  • project costs

Please note: if your application is successful, you will have to submit a report outlining how you have used the grant monies.
