Pharmacology and Drug Discovery Workshop

This workshop will deliver a broad overview of the process of drug discovery and the role of the pharmacologist. It will be of most interest to those scientists newly exposed to drug discovery, working in either pharma, biotech, CROs or as academics/clinician’s, who wish to see the bigger picture; to understand how the individual discovery processes (target validation, primary screening, efficacy testing, biomarkers etc) are integrated.
 
Through a mixture of presentations and interactive breakout sessions, participants will learn about the causes of drug attrition and the R&D approaches most commonly adopted by the industry to improve the likelihood of efficacy, safety and market approval.
