The British Pharmacological Society is pleased to present a series of free webinars for anyone interested in the delivery of pharmacology education.
The series will include talks from invited speakers, covering subjects like professional development opportunities for educators, and support on teaching difficult topics with the aim of sharing best practice. The series also provides delegates with the chance to review and feedback on the Society’s undergraduate core curriculum.
Breakout groups will review and feedback on selected “core knowledge” statements with support of facilitators from the Society’s Education & Training Committee. The aim will be to identify learning objectives, resources and key contacts associated with the “core knowledge” statements that will ultimately enhance the delivery of undergraduate teaching of pharmacology.
Each 1-hour webinar will include a 20-minute talk, 10 minutes of Q&A, 20 minutes of breakout discussions and 10 minutes of round up and closing remarks from the Chair.
In this session we will hear from Dr Christine Edmead (University of Bath) who is conducting some research into the pharmacology teaching needs in related degree subjects such as pharmacy, natural sciences, biosciences and others. You will have the opportunity to contribute to this research and hear progress to date. The aim is to identify a framework of common themes that require teaching support or resources which will help the Society prioritise future work. This project is being funded by a BPS Education Grant.
