Dunlop Prize Lectureship

This prize supports professional development of early career, clinical members. Winners will receive a prize of £500 plus expenses to support up to two lectures in the UK or Ireland, and Europe.

Applications

As a member you can nominate yourself or other members for this prize. If you are self nominating you will need to provide full contact details of two referees.

The application process will open in January 2020.

Eligibility

Applicants will need to:

  • A member for at least two years
  • Clinical trainees, newly appointed consultants (up to three years since appointment), lecturers or senior lecturers based in the UK or Ireland
  • Must be able to commit to presenting lectures within twelve months of the award
  • The Society is committed to increasing the diversity of its award recipients. Excellent candidates are encouraged to apply, especially those from under-represented groups

Apply

To apply you must complete the online form and upload a PDF including:

  • a brief CV detailing career break with dates (max. two pages)
  • a letter highlighting the candidate's achievements and explaining why they are suitable for the lectureship (max. one page)
  • a summary of the work the lecture will be based on (max. one page)
  • ​full list of publications, including journal impact factor and number of citations

Prizes Dunlop Prize Lectureship

This award is named in honour of Derrick Dunlop who became Christison Chair of Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology at Edinburgh University at the early age of 34.
