The British Pharmacological Society is delighted to announce its Polypharmacy workshop: a two day meeting to be held online, in November 2021.

Polypharmacy, the co-prescription of multiple medicines, may be appropriate to manage multiple medical conditions (multi-morbidity), but is also associated with an increased risk of medication-related harm. Structured, holistic, and personalised reviews (structured medication reviews, SMR) are being implemented in primary care networks (PCN) to optimise treatment for individuals at risk of harm from their medicines.

The aim of this workshop is to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to deliver structured medicines reviews for patients with complex multi-morbidity and polypharmacy. This workshop is for those carrying out and supporting the delivery of SMRs, including pharmacists, GPs, clinical pharmacologists, and geriatricians.
