Emerging Innovations in Pharmacological Education

With a thriving pharmacology education community across the globe, there is a wealth of new and innovative teaching resources, strategies and methods being developed to enhance and improve the quality of education and training. At the 19th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2023) in Glasgow, Scotland, we will host an Emerging Innovations in Pharmacological Educations workshop.

The Emerging Innovations in Pharmacological Education workshop  will run from 13:35 - 16:00 on Wednesday 5 July 2023 in the Innovation Theatre.

This workshop allows for the illustration of content and resources which support the learning and engagement of students, the public, patients, or wider audiences with pharmacology. Examples of education and engagement innovations showcased at similar sessions at previous British Pharmacological Society meetings include:
  • Understanding animal research: Tools for engaging students
  • Flexible use of a pharmacokinetic (PK) model systems to bring PK to life for all!
  • Interactive learning resources via iSpring
  • Peer-led interactive multiple choice question session
  • Speaking about animal research: School and public outreach activities
  • Engaging undergraduate medical students with experimental pharmacology
By setting these innovations up at interactive tables and stalls, the session is built upon demonstration of the approaches, and discussion around their design and implementation. Through this, ideas are shared and collaborative partnerships established making this session lively, engaging and beneficial for attendees.

We are no longer accepting applications for demonstrations at the Emerging Innovations in Pharmacological Education session, but we hope to see you there!
