Supporting research in the NHS response

At the end of 2017, NHS England consulted on a set of proposals to simplify NHS research proposals. These aim to improve management of excess treatment costs. They will also improve commercial clinical research set-up and reporting. In our response, we agreed with most of the design principles used to develop the proposals. We strongly agreed with a single point of access, to help provide a consistent approach. Our concerns included unclear arrangements for excess treatment costs, and increased administration costs.
