Reviewing the Outcomes for graduates

The General Medical Council’s ‘Outcomes for Graduates’ set out the knowledge, skills and behaviours essential for newly qualified UK medical graduates. This review was launched to take into account changes since the Outcomes were first introduced in 2009. In our responses we argued that a list of procedures should be included in the Outcomes. We recommended some amendments to the Outcomes, focusing on prescribing. We emphasised the importance of effective, as well as safe prescribing.
