An update on our networks project

You may remember that in the spring, I announced that we had been working on a new project to improve the way we engage with specialist groups across the Society. We have been looking at how we can create new member communities that will allow you to seek and offer support, and to share ideas, content, job roles, events and even available equipment.

I’m delighted to let you know that the project has been progressing well. After receiving your feedback, we know that we want to revamp the way that the Society interacts with you, and to offer you a better way to communicate with each other.

After thoroughly researching how we could do this, we believe that we should carefully explore the creation of a new exciting and engaging online platform. We think this will allow us to build different communities and special interest groups to suit all our members, whether they are based on research interest, career-stage, where you are in the world, or any other factor. A user-friendly website could support networking, meetings and the sharing of new science. It could also be an excellent way for the Society to share its news and events, and for you to connect with members all over the world.

We want to make sure this project meets your needs, so we will be carrying out further detailed planning and engagement. With that in mind, we are keen to hear from you if you would like to be involved in the product testing and planning, so if that piques your interest, please do get in touch.

I hope that you have had a great summer so far and I look forward to updating you on this exciting project in the autumn.
