Blink and it will be Pharmacology 2025!

Home to Queen’s University Belfast, this city is a hub for research and education in the pharmaceutical sciences and is paving the way for other cities when it comes to being sustainable and tech-focussed.
For the keynote sessions alone, Pharmacology 2025 should be in your calendar. This joint meeting with the Irish Association of Pharmacologists will inspire at the cutting-edge, widen still further our network of enthusiasts, and provide social events to round off the year in style!

The BPS team have been developing the plan of prize lectures, keynotes, symposia and social events since January, supported by our marvellous Meetings Committee. They have now delivered a programme for Pharmacology 2025 which showcases a ship-full of the most inspiring pharmacologists on the planet.

Professor Dame Anna Dominiczak promises to enthral with her career-long perspective on advances in cardiovascular therapeutics - but it ain’t all about the Dame! Professor Philip Bath receives the Lilly Prize for his work on stroke, and Professor Manuel Mayr carries on the cardiovascular theme. From University College Dublin we have the self-proclaimed interdisciplinary evangelist Professor Patricia Maguire, while from Cambridge we bring you Professor Mark Howarth who will delve into the therapeutic magic of bacterial superglues.

And what a stunning venue the Belfast ICC delivers for us to engage with the science! A Platinum award at this year’s Eventex Ceremony and Best UK Event Venue’ at the 2024 micebook awards (I didn’t know mice could read, never mind write…)

There’s just one day left for Early Bird prices, so register and don’t delay!
It’s not just about the programme. Those who attended Pharmacology 2024 at Harrogate will recall dining at the spectacularly grand Royal Hall. Well, it’s been bested for Pharmacology 2025. Team BPS have raised their game again where I thought it was mission impossible!

We are thrilled to invite you to this year’s Gala Dinner, to feast at the spectacular Titanic Belfast. Walk that staircase into not just a restaurant but a museum that tells the story of the Titanic’s development and the momentous events that still inspire filmmakers and deep-sea explorers over a century later.

Beyond the Titanic, the fine City of Belfast is steeped in history, home to unique sightseeing locations and museums, a thriving pub and restaurant scene, from food markets to Michelin-star restaurants, and offers amazing opportunities for last minute Christmas shopping.

If you wish to explore further afield and extend your stay, you are a hop, skip and a jump away from the famous Giants Causeway, while Dublin is a mere two hours away.

As for traveling to Belfast, there are many ways to get there. Not just flights but ferries that set sail from Scotland and England across the Irish sea too, where the conference may well begin for many in the Ferry Bar! Rail and public transport connections to the ICC are a breeze, but book early for the best accommodation deals.

Until we meet again at the Belfast ICC, keep an eye on the Pharmacology 2025 website because we’ve got a shipload of announcements coming down the line, including the Sir James Black Award for Drug Discovery of the Year!
