We're delighted to extend a warm invitation to join us on 23 April 2024 as we commemorate the remarkable journey of the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology (BJCP) over the past five decades.  We will be hosting ‘Reflections & Innovations in Clinical Pharmacology: 50 Years of the BJCP’ at the John Vane Science Centre, Queen Mary University of London, offering insights into the rich history, present achievements, and future prospects of clinical pharmacology.

Agenda Highlights

Our symposium will feature engaging sessions designed to illuminate the trajectory of clinical pharmacology. In the first session, we'll delve into the historical roots of the BJCP, exploring pivotal moments post-WWII with insights from speakers including Professor Tilli Tansey and Professor Geoffrey Tucker. Following this journey through time, our second session, ‘History in the Making’, will navigate contemporary issues and future trends in clinical pharmacology. From global outreach to personalised medicine and clinical drug development, distinguished speakers such as Professor Michael Rieder and Professor Ann Daly will offer valuable perspectives on the latest innovations shaping the field.

Our lineup of esteemed speakers also includes Professor Sir Munir Pirmohammed, Professor Adam Cohen, Professor Catriona Waitt, Dr. Jeffrey Aronson, and many more. Each speaker brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the symposium, ensuring engaging discussions and valuable insights.
