The International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) and the IUPHAR Natural Products Section will host the 6th IUPHAR World Conference on Natural Products and Traditional Medicine in Dakar, Senegal, from 26-28 November 2025.
The British Pharmacological Society is a member of IUPHAR, and hosted the IUPHAR World Congress of Basic & Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2023) in Glasgow back in 2023. The BPS encourages all its members to take part in this important upcoming conference, which will bring together pharmacologists from all over the world to unite in Dakar to share research and learn about the latest developments in natural products and traditional medicine.
Abstract deadline extended to 10 September 2025
Abstract submissions for the conference were due to close today (3 September), but IUPHAR has generously extended the deadline by a week to allow more people to submit their abstracts.
Note: The website still says 3 September, but this will be updated soon.
The BPS hopes many of its members will take the opportunity to share their important research at this conference.

Travel bursary for BPS members
The BPS offers a range of bursaries to support and encourage its members to share their research at conferences. For meetings and events run by external organisations, the Non-BPS meeting bursary provides funding support for abstract presenters to help cover early bird event registration, travel and accommodation costs.
Members have until 10 September 2025 to apply for the bursary for this year's World Conference on Natural Products and Traditional Medicine.
