Clinical Consultant



Dr Anna Stewart is a Consultant in Acute Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

In her role, Anna provides physician cover to the NIHR Clinical Research Unit at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as a co-investigator on a wide range of phase I-III clinical trials.

As a new consultant, she has also recently become a Principle Investigator (PI) on several later phase clinical trials, working in partnership with Halton Clinical Research Unit (HCRU).

She runs a tertiary hypertension clinic and teaches medical students (bedside and lectures). She is also a Senior Author for the Prescribing Skills Assessment (PSA).

After completing her medical degree, Anna earned a PG Cert in postgraduate medical education before being awarded an MRCP(UK).

Anna joined the Society in 2013. She was deputy chair of the Specialty Registrars Sub-Committee for education and training between 2020 and 2022.
