This virtual workshop will deliver a broad overview of the process of drug discovery and the role of the pharmacologist. It discusses the causes of drug attrition and the Research & Development (R&D) approaches most commonly adopted by the industry to improve the likelihood of efficacy, safety & market approval. The day will include presentations by field experts and interactive breakout sessions to reinforce the principles learnt.

Learning Outcomes: 
1. To review the process of drug discovery and the role of pharmacology.
2. To understand the causes of drug attrition and the R&D approaches most commonly adopted by the industry to improve the likelihood of efficacy, safety and market approval.
3. To have an understanding of the scientific management of drug programmes.
