BPSA announces key appointment in bid to secure global audience for Prescribing Skills Assessment

Elearning and online assessment provider BPS Assessment Ltd (BPSA) has appointed Angus Metcalfe as its Sales Director, as it seeks a step change in international growth.

Angus joins BPSA, a subsidiary of the British Pharmacological Society, having been previously employed by the British Medical Journal (BMJ) as Global Commercial Director. Angus brings with him 25 years’ worth of commercial leadership experience. Before his eight years with BMJ he served as Vice-President for Sales of Thomson Reuters’ PharmaChem Division and as Sales Director for Thomson's academic and government business unit.

BPSA Managing Director Jonathan Brüün described the purpose of this appointment:

Angus will build on the rapid international uptake and growing reputation of the Prescribing Skills Assessment, along with a broader package of prescribing eLearning and online assessment options. Partnerships with medical educators and patient safety programmes around the world will be a key feature.

It is great for BPS Assessment to bring in a sales director of Angus’s pedigree. With his background in scientific, technical and medical publishing, elearning and securing global commercial deals, I am excited about the opportunities he will explore with us.
