Open now: World Smart Medication Day poster competition

To mark World Smart Medication Day, the International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (IUPHAR) are running their annual poster competition.

This year, IUPHAR’s theme is ‘sex/gender differences in clinical pharmacology’.

Posters can be submitted in two categories: general posters (which are open to all medical, pharmacy or pharmacology pre-graduate students) and research posters (which are open to all medical, pharmacy or pharmacology pre- and post-graduate students).

Criteria

  • How relevant is the work to the theme?

  • How clearly does the abstract describe the work that was conducted?

  • Are the methods sound?

  • Are the conclusions consistent with the results?

  • What is the impact of the work in the field of clinical pharmacology?

How to enter

Entrants should email clinical@bps.ac.uk with their poster. The deadline for UK poster submissions to the BPS  is 11am on Monday 31 March 2025.

Posters and scoresheets will then be distributed to the BPS judging panel, who will review and select a winner in each category in April.

The two winning UK submissions will then be sent to IUPHAR to be included as the national entries for the international competition.

Four prizes will be awarded by IUPHAR Clinical and Translational Section (two best general posters and two best research posters). Awardees of these four prizes will be invited to speak at the World Smart Medication Day webinar on Thursday 8 May 2025.

In addition, the BPS will invite the UK winners to write a blog or article about their research for the BPS website.

This is an opportunity to share your science with a global audience; make sure you get your posters in by 31 March 2025!
