CERSI-PGx launches new free two-part ‘Pharmacogenomics in Practice’ eLearning module

CERSI-PGx is expanding its free pharmacogenomics eLearning offer by launching new modules and features.

About pharmacogenomics and CERSI-PGx

Pharmacogenomics explores how differences in people’s genes can influence their response to medicines. The field aims to support more personalised approaches to treatment by helping researchers and healthcare professionals understand why a medicine may work well for one person but be less effective, or cause unwanted effects, for another.

CERSI-PGx is a collaborative group focused on advancing pharmacogenomics research, education and its application in practice. Its eLearning platform launched in January 2026 and provides free, accessible learning developed with subject specialists, and enables researchers, healthcare professionals and other scientific audiences to explore key topics at their own pace. New modules have been added to the platform throughout the year, with a two-part Module 8 launching this week and Module 9 launching very soon.

New modules

‘Module 8: Pharmacogenomics in Practice’ is available to access now and comes in two parts:

  • ‘Part A: Clopidogrel guidelines’ investigates patient perspectives on pharmacogenomic testing. It reviews the inaugural CERSI-PGx clinical guideline as an evidence-based framework for pharmacogenomic decision-making.
  • ‘Part B: Clopidogrel case study’ examines patient viewpoints and attributes of best practice within this context.

These new modules add to a growing collection designed to help regulators, researchers, healthcare professionals and other scientific audiences build their understanding of pharmacogenomics and explore how it can support research and practice.

Module 9 will launch next week.
