We are delighted to announce that the British Pharmacological Society has awarded its first two Sir Colin Dollery Clinical Pharmacology Training Awards.
Sophie Crawford, University of Liverpool, and Taranveer Khangura, Queen’s University Belfast, will receive bursaries of £6,000 to support their intercalated year as part of their medical training. Sophie will be studying for a BSc in Pharmacology, and Taranveer in Medical Sciences with modules in Pharmacology and Cardiovascular Medicine. An intercalated year is an opportunity for Medical Students to take a year out of their regular medical degree to study a specific area of interest. Supported by the Dollery family, the aim of this new award is to encourage medical students to pursue clinical pharmacology as a specialty and increase basic pharmacology skills for medical students pursuing a career path within industry.
