Full Membership is for individuals established in their careers and working in pharmacology and its related disciplines. This includes the types of roles listed below. You can also read case studies of current members.

Full Member Case Study - Clinical Consultant

Academic researchers who will typically:

  • be at least five years post award of a PhD pharmacology or a related discipline (excluding career breaks)
  • have published in peer reviewed journals

Academic teachers who will typically:

  • be at least five years post award of a PhD pharmacology or a related discipline (excluding career breaks)

  • be able to demonstrate their contribution to the education and training of other scientists or healthcare professionals

Clinicians who will typically:

  • hold certification in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics; or

  • hold certification in another speciality with an interest in pharmacology; or
  • be in a recognised postgraduate training position (e.g. ST3 or above) in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, or related speciality with an interest in pharmacology

Industry scientists who will typically:

  • have at least an undergraduate degree in pharmacology or a related discipline
  • be at least five years post award of the degree (excluding career breaks)
  • have published in peer reviewed journals

Other professionals who can demonstrate significant involvement in pharmacology, such as:

  • pharmacists

  • medicinal chemists
  • nurses contributing to clinical research
  • individuals involved in regulatory affairs

Cost

  • January – September: £105 (or £85 by Direct Debit) covers membership until the end of the current year
  • October – December: £131 (or £111 by Direct Debit) covers membership until the end of the following year

Applicants from low and middle income countries will receive the relevent discount upon application and any subsequent renewal.

Income tax relief on your subscription can be claimed by UK-based members if you are a current Tax Payer. Membership fees are 100% tax deductible.
