Building Bridges, Making Connections is a workshop that will take place at Pharmacology 2026. Applicants will each give a one-minute flash presentation on educational projects, teaching resources, and/or Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) projects for which they are seeking collaborators.
Applications to present at the workshop at Pharmacology 2026 are now closed, but anyone attending the conference is welcome to join the session to watch the presentations, network and discuss possible collaborations.
We hope this workshop will lead to collaborations on projects which may then be eligible to receive a BPS Education Grant.
The session offers a unique opportunity to meet like-minded educators, expand your professional network, and develop collaborations that extend beyond institutional boundaries.

Workshop background
As higher education continues to evolve, educators are increasingly expected to engage in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), educational research, resource development, and cross-institutional collaboration to advance their careers. Yet many educational projects remain limited in scope, with findings applicable only to a single programme or institution, while the time and resources required to create high-quality educational materials can be difficult to secure.
This interactive workshop led by Professor Dave Lewis aims to address these challenges by bringing together educators from across the sector to build new connections, develop collaborations, and explore opportunities to create impactful educational research and innovative learning resources.
Dave Lewis is Professor of Education for Professional and Sustainable Development, and Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at the University of Leeds. He serves as the Vice-President (Academic Development) for the British Pharmacological Society and is widely recognised for his leadership in pharmacology education and bioethics.
