Response to the Stern Review

In March 2016, the Society had responded to the call for evidence for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) review by Lord Nicholas Stern to highlight particular areas of concern for pharmacology, and supported the Royal Society of Biology's response to the review. The review examined how university research funding can be allocated more efficiently so that universities can focus on carrying out world-leading research, and made recommendations on the future operation of REF. The REF review report entitled Building on Success and  Learning from Experience was published on 28 July 2016.
