Dunlop Prize

This biennial prize supports the professional development of early career, clinical members. Recipients are awarded £500, a lecture at a Society meeting, and up to £5,000 to support a research visit to Australasia - funded by BPS & ASCEPT.

Criteria

Candidates will be assessed on their research proposal, lecture summary, published work, and potential benefit from exposure to overseas research activity.

Eligibility

  • Member for at least two years
  • Clinical trainee, newly appointed consultant (up to three years since appointment), lecturer or senior lecturer
  • Applicants are expected to find a host institution for the visit in advance of submission
  • Based outside of Australasia and expected to qualify for a visa
  • The Society is committed to increasing the diversity of its award recipients. Excellent candidates are encouraged to apply, especially those from under-represented groups

Application

You must complete the online form and upload a PDF including the following information. All documents must use Arial 11 and Moderate margins.

  • One page CV
  • Proposal summarising the focus of the research visit (using SMART objectives
  • Letter from the host institute, confirming that they have agreed to host the applicant for the duration of the visit and pay for research costs
  • Lecture summary 
  • Full list of publications, including journal impact factor and number of citations

Sir Derrick Dunlop



This award is named in honour of Sir Derrick Dunlop who became Christison Chair of Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology at Edinburgh University at the early age of 34.
