Dr Ann Hayes

Ann Hayes completed her PhD in Pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy in London and then worked for 22 years at Glaxo, initially within pharmacology research, progressing to head of department. After the merger of Glaxo with Wellcome, she was appointed Therapeutic Director for CNS diseases in Drug Discovery. In 1999, Ann became Director of Group Discovery Portfolio and was a member of the Drug Discovery Board and Research Executive Team.In 2001, Ann left GlaxoWellcome and set up as an independent pharmaceutical consultant. Since then she has co-founded three drug discovery companies, and has sat on the boards of several others. She consults principally in the area of CNS drug discovery, and sits on various scientific advisory boards. Ann has been a trustee of the BPS, and chaired the Industry Sub-Committee from 2012 to 2015.
