Marie Fisk
Clinical Lecturer
I am a member of the British Pharmacology Society Clinical Committee and work closely with colleagues to deliver the national monthly teaching and in-person training days for clinical pharmacology & therapeutics trainees. In addition, I set up a knowledge based assessment working group to enable a sustainable platform for questions for this formative assessment. I work as a NHS physician and clinical academic with a special interest in clinical trials, medicines and clinical pharmacology, particularly in the field of respiratory medicine. I deliver pharmacology teaching for the university students and I am a coapplicant on two large respiratory National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) trials; as well as my own NIHR Efficacy and Mechanisms Evaluation (EME) trial project as a Chief Investigator. I previously was an Associate Senior Editor for the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and worked with the journal on policy statements and journal series related to sustainable medicines usage. I also worked with the BPS, Royal College of Physicians and NIHR to develop LEARN modules on clinical research. My goal is to advance the full spectrum of pharmacology education and research, fostering collaboration and innovation to support the optimal and equitable use of medicines and healthcare—enabling good health for all.
