Kevin Pfleger
Director Biomedical and Health Innovation
Professor Kevin Pfleger studied Natural Sciences at Cambridge University, majoring in Pharmacology, and was awarded his PhD from the University of Edinburgh. He joined The University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2002 and having received three nationally-competitive research fellowships, is now Director Biomedical and Health Innovation at UWA and the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub. He is also Head of Molecular Endocrinology and Pharmacology at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, former President of the Australasian Society of Clinical and Experimental Pharmacologists and Toxicologists, Chief Scientific Advisor to ASX-listed Dimerix and Scientific co-Founder of RAGE Biotech. A recipient of the Novartis Prize of the British Pharmacological Society, Professor Pfleger served on the BPS International Advisory Group from 2017 and is on the WCP2026 Local Organising Committee. He also serves as Chair of Perth Biodesign and Biodesign Australia, and is a member of the WA State Committee of AusBiotech and Steering Committees of the APAC Biodesign Alliance, The Bridge Program and The BridgeTech Program. He was also Founding co-Director of the Australian Clinical Entrepreneur Program and, advising the Western Australian Government, he serves on the: Sector Advisory Panel for the WA Health and Medical Research Strategy 2023-2033; Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Advisory Group; and Future Health Research and innovation Fund Innovation Expert Committee.
