Professor Emeritus (2009, Flinders University of South Australia). Respiratory pharmacologist focussing on putative asthma mediators, epithelial and neurologic functions. Research Fellow (Asthma Foundation of Western Australia, 1979; Lecturer, University of WA, 1983-86), Member British Pharmacological Society (BPS, 1983-). Editorial Board of the BJP (1995-99). National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Research Fellow (1986–2000, Professorial level 1995- 2000). Continuous NHMRC research funding 1981-2007. Established (1995) the first UV confocal microscopy centre in the Southern Hemisphere (Dept Pharmacology, UWA). Appointed to a Personal Chair and Head of Department (Pharmacology UWA 2000-04). Executive Dean, Faculty of Health Sciences, Flinders (2004-2009). Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) (May 26-June 20, 2008), Acting Vice-Chancellor, (June 10-11, 2008). Life Member Australasian Society of Clinical & Experimental Pharmacologists & Toxicologists (ASCEPT, 2008-). ASCEPT Invited Lecturer to the BPS (2003). Member NHMRC Executive, Lead Scientist grant peer review (2009). Australia Day Silver Medal (2014) for outstanding contributions to NHMRC peer review policy.
