Sarah Nickolls

Sarah is an Early Development Leader at GSK, where she leads teams using translational pharmacology to begin the process of turning “candidates” into medicines. She began her career in Pharmacology with a PhD in “Agonist Bias at Dopamine D2 receptors” supervised by Professor Philip Strange. Followed by an industrial post-doctoral position at Neurocrine Biosciences in San Diego. She returned to the UK in 2005 to join Pfizer, where she spent 11 years, leading both groups of pharmacologists and multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams, before moving to GSK in 2016. Throughout her career Sarah has promoted the use of pharmacological principles in drug discovery, as well as presenting at and organising conferences.
