Who we are
The Engagement Committee advises Council on all matters relating to the Society’s engagement of members, stakeholders, the wider scientific community, and the public. The Committee provides direction and support for activities undertaken by the Society featuring members and non-members. The Committee also helps to define specific audiences to target and to oversee specific outreach activities that foster public engagement. Additionally, there is frequent collaboration with staff members and other Committees as to provide a multifaceted approach to engagement.
How we are organised
The Committee is comprised of 10-12 members. It is chaired by the Vice President - of Engagement and is supported by the Engagement Officer., who is elected by its 10-12 members. Terms for membership usually last three years and members are expected to meet three times a year to perform their duties. Individuals who are not members of the BPS may be able to join the Committee for specific projects or limited terms, depending on relevant qualifications/experience.

The Engagement Committee reports to the Executive Committee.
