Who we are

The Meetings Committee advises the BPS Council on, and manages, the programme of meetings that benefit the Society’s members. The primary aim of the Committee is to ensure that members have access to high-quality science through the organising of appropriate in-person and online events, often in collaboration with other societies and related bodies. To ensure the success of this objective, the Committee regularly oversees the provision of certain bursaries and funding opportunities to ensure that Society members can attend and present their work at BPS and external meetings.

How we are organised

The Committee is comprised of its (up to) twelve members. It is chaired by the Vice President - Meetings and supported by the Head of Events & Partnerships. The Committee typically meet three times a year to carry out the allocated responsibilities of the group. Members usually serve a term of three years.
