Scottish Government's consultation on the 'Heart disease: action plan'

Heart disease remains Scotland’s single biggest killer and constitutes the country’s single biggest health burden. Current actions on heart disease are set out in the Heart Disease Improvement Plan (2014) which was a refresh of the Better Heart Disease and Stroke Care Action Plan (2009).

The new heart disease action plan (2021) sets out the Scottish government's priorities and the actions they will take to minimise preventable heart disease and ensure equitable and timely access to diagnosis, treatment and care for people with suspected heart disease in Scotland. Prior to the publication of the report on 23 March 2021, the Society submitted a response to the consultation.
