Overview

This workshop covers applied aspects of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics and will take the format of simulations, to model steady state drug plasma concentrations and solving clinical scenarios and emergencies using patient mannequins in a hospital setting. 

Students will be expected to play an active role in modelling, analysis, interpretation and problem solving.

Learning Objectives

  • Gain an understanding of the relationship of pharmacokinetic parameters that define clinical outcomes
  • Solve problems in pharmacology using case-based clinical simulations and human mannequins in a simulated hospital setting

Workshop dinner:

A workshop dinner for speakers and delegates will be held on Tuesday 17 July at Bella Italia. This is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with both the speakers and other delegates in an informal setting.

Travel Instructions

Rail/Tube:
Nearest train stations are Hatfield Train Station and St Albans Station. It is a 11 minute bus ride from Hatfield Railway Station (Stop B) to the University and a 10 minute bus ride from St Albans Road West to the university.
 
Bus:
ARRIVA and UNO Bus connects the University with Hatfield station and St Albans station.
 
By Car:
Off Junction 2 of the A1(M).
 
Car parking:
Limited Pay and Display Visitor parking is available on College Lane Campus in Car Parks C and E between Lindop and Todd buildings (on your left as you enter campus). Visitors are encouraged wherever possible to take public transport or to use the Park and Ride service.
