🏆 Pharmacomedy Competition 2026 – Results Announcement
We are delighted to share the results of the 2026 Pharmacomedy competition, which ran from December 2025 to January 2026.
This year’s competition was a fantastic success, with multiple creative and witty entries submitted. All jokes were judged anonymously by our panel, Alistair Corbett, Kirsten McKnight and Graeme Henderson who scored each entry on originality, humour and relevance to pharmacology. Judging the entries was a joy, revealing once again the incredible comedic talent within our community. Submissions ranged from subtle smiles to full laugh‑out‑loud moments, with the majority performing strongly across all criteria.
As always, this competition is held in memory of Alexander (Sandy) McKnight, a cherished colleague and long time Society member who passed away in 2023. We were honoured to have Sandy’s daughter, Kirsten, on the judging panel. She shared:
“Being part of the judging panel again this year has been great fun. I love that this competition celebrates the humour, creativity, and shared understanding of the pharmacology community. My dad would have been thrilled to see how BPS members continue his legacy of blending science with humour.”
🥇 Winner – Pharmacomedy 2026
Victor Egbosimba
Winning line:
“They say love is like a drug, I just pray mine isn’t cardiotoxic 🥹. My heart can’t survive another adverse reaction 💔.”
Victor’s entry hit the brief perfectly, blending scientific accuracy, personality and humour into a cardiotoxic one‑liner that thoroughly charmed the judging panel.
🥈 Second Place – Runner‑Up
Chibueze David
Chibueze secures second place with a brilliant minoxidil‑themed graphic joke, which stood out for its creativity, visual humour and pharmacological sharpness. A memorable crowd‑pleaser and a strong runner‑up.

🎉 Thank You to All Entrants
A huge thank‑you to everyone who took part in the 2026 competition. Your jokes, illustrations, and scientific humour made this year’s Pharmacomedy a real highlight. It has been wonderful to see so many members embrace the lighter side of pharmacology proving that even serious science has room for laughter.
We will be back again next year with the 2027 Pharmacomedy competition.
