Selecting speakers and participants

As part of the application you need to outline how you have considered equality, diversity and inclusion. When selecting speakers please consider:

  • the diversity of your speakers (including demographic differences and professional background)
  • including at least one early career researcher (ECR)
  • the gender split (no more than 60% of either gender)

If you are unable to select an ECR, highlight it in your application and we can help you try to source a speaker.

We recommend you check your speakers' availability and ask them to pencil in all three days. But don't formally invite them until your session is confirmed and you have your allocated slot.

Expenses

Speakers will receive complimentary registration for the day of their session and their travel and accommodation will be arranged by the Society,in line with the expenses policy.

Chairs will receive complimentary registration for the day of their session.

We will only support travel and accommodation for two speakers from Europe (outside UK and Republic of Ireland), or one speaker from the rest of the world. This ensures a funding balance across each session.

Please email meetings@bps.ac.uk to discuss any exceptions before submitting your proposal.
