Honorary Fellows are elected for life by the British Pharmacological Society in recognition of sustained excellence and leadership in science, healthcare, and public service.
 
The Honorary Fellowship includes Nobel Laureates, international prize-winners, long-standing members of the Society, and those who have advanced the disciplines of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics through research, leadership and contribution to the British Pharmacological Society.

Dame Kate Bingham

In her 30 years at SV, Kate’s biotech investments have resulted in the launch of six drugs for the treatment of patients with inflammatory and autoimmune disease and cancer.

Dr Nigel Birdsall

Nigel Birdsall obtained his PhD from Cambridge University.

Dr Thomas Blackburn

Tom has been a member since 1979 and brings more than 40 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, where he has held executive and senior management positions at ICI Pharmaceuticals, Beecham Pharmaceuticals PLC and SmithKline Beecham in the UK and Synaptic Pharmaceutical Corporation and Helicon Therapeutics in the USA.

Professor Richard Bond

Richard A Bond received his PhD in pharmacology with Dr David Clarke at the University of Houston, and did his postdoctoral training with Paul Vanhoutte at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.

Professor Chas Bountra

Chas is Pro-Vice Chancellor for Innovation - University of Oxford, Director - Centre for Medicines Discovery, Professor of Translational Medicine - Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine, Associate Member - Department of Pharmacology, Professorial Fellow - Keble College and Director - Oxford University Innovations.

Dr Malcolm Boyce

I’m the Medical and Managing Director of HMR, a Clinical Research Organisation that specialises in clinical pharmacology studies for the pharmaceutical industry.

Professor Susan Brain

Susan Brain carried out her BSc and PhD degrees in Pharmacology within the University of London, before developing an interest in vascular biology and inflammation during her postdoctoral years.

Mr Jono Bruun

Jono was Chief Executive Officer of the British Pharmacological Society between 2012 and 2019, having led the Communications and Development function from 2009.

Professor Julia Buckingham

Julia read Zoology at the University of Sheffield and, after a short spell in the pharmaceutical industry, moved to London to study for a PhD in Pharmacology.
