Dunlop Prize Lectureship

Background

The Dunlop Prize Lectureship was created to support the professional development of early career clinical members. Named in honour of Sir Derrick Dunlop, who became Christison Chair of Therapeutics and Clinical Pharmacology at Edinburgh University at the early age of 34, and has been inducted into the Pharmacology Hall of Fame.

The prize

£500 plus expenses to support lectures at two institutes in the UK and Ireland, and one in Europe.

Criteria

  • Quality of the nomination
  • Quality of the nominees’ career to date
  • Quality of the lecture synopsis
  • Quality of the candidates publications

Eligibility

  • Candidates will
    • Be clinical trainees, newly appointed consultants, lecturers or senior lecturers from the UK and Ireland
    • Ordinarily be expected to have been members for at least 2 years
  • Nominations by members only. Self-nomination is acceptable, but the names and full contact details of two referees must be provided.
  • Before submitting nominations Proposers should ensure that candidates are willing to make the necessary commitment to travel within twelve months of the award
