Engagement Training Bursary

From public speaking to exhibition design, stakeholder mapping to blogging, there are so many skills for engagement that could help you share pharmacology with the world.

The Engagement Training Bursary, administered by the Engagement Committee, offers up to £500 to support our members to develop or improve their engagement skills through in-person or online training opportunities.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for this bursary, you must have been a Society member for a minimum of 12 months, and be able to demonstrate how you plan to use the skills developed through this training.

How may funds be used?

Funds may be used to cover registration fees for events and up to 50% of travel and accommodation costs associated with attendance (or up to 75% in the case of undergraduate members).  Reasonable requests for funding to cover other aspects to facilitate attendance and participation will be considered by the committee on a case-by-case basis.

 Additional information

  • After the training, successful applicants will be expected to write a short report on the training or course covering its benefits, what you learnt and how you plan to use these skills in the future.  This may be considered for publication in Pharmacology Matters.
  • We want to support the development of as many of our members as possible.  Therefore, please be aware that budget restrictions may mean we are not always able to award the full amount requested.
  • Please note that we will only make payments to a bank account in the applicant’s name, unless otherwise agreed by our Finance team.
  • If you have any questions about the above, please contact getinvolved@bps.ac.uk.
